The Conical Shredder is indispensable for making longer strokes and is good for texturing and working on rounded surfaces. Like the Small Shredder, it is also an indispensable tool for shaping and carving leather-hard clay.  This shredder functions well and doesn't frustrate the user by trapping waste clay in the tool. An added benefit is the tool mark, which leaves a handsome textured surface in the clay. Note: in this case, the colour of the handle does not make a difference to the product. We will do our best to ship the color requested, but occasionally, substitutions must be made.

A Japanese-inspired, reimagined trim tool that- as the name implies, we truly think "does it all". No more switching between dozens of different trimming tools! When Michael first visited Japan in the 1980s, he fell in love with the simplicity of the Japanese-style kanna trim tool. Subsequently, he spent years afterward altering and remaking his own trimming tools to better suit his various needs. These efforts eventually resulted in this elegant, versatile pottery tool. The sharpened, more familiar kanna spade shape provides an excellent, precise cutting edge, especially for working details around the foot of tea bowls, bowls, and plates. The curled end combines all of Michael's favorite loop tool shapes: it includes both a broad surface for smoothing and a tight shape for detail trimming. This dragging motion allowed for less friction and a fluid cut. For years, Michael made a variety of Japanese-style carving tools for his own use, and he’s spent A LOT of time carving on clay to test them out. Made of high carbon steel and tempered to be very hard, the Dragtool is designed to grace the hand and make a fluted mark in the clay. One end of the Dragtool cuts a wider flute than the other. Whether used to draw a long fluted line or chip away at the clay, the texture will look beautiful under a celadon or any other glaze that breaks on the surface. Dragtool sharpening guide here
